Industry Growth Triggers Expansion at Sigma

Did you know that the global market for BPO is predicted to reach $262.2 billion in 2022? This may be due to the cost benefits of back-office administration, and the development and availability of new technologies according to a recent report by Global Industry Analysts, Inc.

In preparation for the projected growth of our industry both locally and abroad, Sigma, Digicall Group’s debt collection and customer service business has expanded to a secondary office in Retreat, Cape Town. The move aims to capitalise on offshoring opportunities by offering organisations in the UK the ideal solution to outsource their business processes and save between 30%-40% on overhead costs while still maintaining, if not exceeding, current performance and outputs.

Currently, Sigma’s primary site in Diep River, Cape Town has the capacity to house 500 full-time employees, but due to the rapid growth of the E.ON campaign and the continuous expansion of other portfolios that are managed by Sigma, the primary site reached capacity.

The Sigma Retreat site will now become the home of E.ON’s Collections and Customer Service functions. A considerable achievement since E.ON is considered one of Europe’s “Big Six” utility companies that provide gas and electricity to more than 7-million customers in the United Kingdom.

Centrally located in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, our new location allows recruitment to attract talent from the surrounding areas.

Digicall CEO, Ruben Moggee, commented, “It has been more than 3 years since we have acquired Sigma in the UK. In this short space of time, we have expanded the operation to extend across two sites in Cape Town and we are targeting 1000 full-time employees to service UK contracts from South Africa. We are incredibly proud of this huge success story for many reasons but especially so because this move makes Sigma and Digicall a significant contributor to job development and the local economy. We continually strive to make our business a great place to work and look forward to welcoming many new employees over the coming months. I offer my thanks to all our people across both the UK and SA that have played a role in the achievement of this growth and success.”

The office expansion is yet another testament to Sigma’s strong, growing position as a dynamic outsource partner that has become a world-class BPO business and an employer of choice.
